The Apollo Healthcare Property Fund acquires Assisted living complex in Mijdrecht

Maastricht, May 3rd, 2019 – The Apollo Healthcare Property Fund has acquired Assisted living complex “De Kom” in Mijdrecht from healthcare provider Zonnehuisgroep Amstelland. De Kom consists out of 94 apartments for elderly and/or people with a healthcare need.

De Kom is located at the Mevrouw van Wieringenplein in the center of Mijdrecht. From the building, residents have a view of the cozy city center with shops, restaurants and (healthcare) facilities. The building also borders the ‘Kerkkanaal’, which is connected to the Amstel canal.

The Assisted living facility consists out of 94 apartments spread over five floors. The apartments have a spacious living room, bedroom and bathroom. In addition, there are general facilities such as a recreational room and (bicycle) storage.

“This acquisition perfectly fits in our investment strategy. We are pleased that we can guarantee housing for the elderly and/or people with a healthcare need in Mijdrecht and the surrounding areas, ” says Michel van Oostvoorn, portfolio manager of the Apollo Healthcare Property Fund. “The apartments fit in seamlessly with the trend that tenants wish and are able to stay longer at home and decide for themselves whether they would like to use (health)care or other services. This is a good example of “assisted living” in which the Fund invests. We will invest the next years to improve sustainability of De Kom and to renovate the property in order to fulfill the future demand of the target group”. The residents receive the availability for (health)care assistance. In addition, depending on demand, there will be the option of 24/7 availability of (necessary) healthcare.

The portfolio of the Fund amounts to approximately 80 million euros, divided between the segments Assisted living, Nursing homes and Care and treatment centers.
