Last Friday was a special moment: the De Reeshof Health Centre in Tilburg was handed over as a shell construction. With a floor area of 1,617 m², it is currently still a building in progress, but soon it will become a place where thousands of local residents can access the care they need.
What does this centre really mean for the neighbourhood?
For the De Reeshof neighbourhood, this new centre means much more than just an attractive building. It will soon become a place where general practitioners, physiotherapists, the pharmacy, podiatrists, home care organisations and professionals from the social domain work together under one roof.
The general practices alone will support more than 10,000 clients. No longer will care be scattered across the city, with unnecessary barriers that delay treatment. Instead, care will be accessible, nearby and seamlessly connected.
Together, we are creating a centre where residents can find the right support without detours, precisely when they need it.
Paris Proof construction: our responsibility
This building has been constructed entirely according to Paris Proof standards, with an A+++ energy labelas our baseline. We do this not because it looks good in an ESG report, but because future-proof care requires future-proof buildings.
With every project, we examine how we can incorporate as many circular materials and sustainable solutions as possible. We are not yet fully circular, but each project brings us a step closer. Sustainability for us is not a trend or a hype.
It is a responsibility we feel towards people, communities, and the future.
Who made this possible?
We could only achieve this wonderful result thanks to the expertise, collaboration, and commitment of our partners:
- Bouwbedrijf Remmers, for their craftsmanship and solution-oriented approach.
- BBdW, who are now handling the fit-out phase, transforming the shell into a fully functioning health centre.
We are extremely grateful for their dedication and professionalism. Without them, we would not be where we are today.
What happens next?
In the coming period, BBdW will start the fit-out phase of the centre. If everything goes according to plan, the health centre will be handed over turnkey in January 2026. From that moment on, it will no longer just be a building project on paper but a place where care professionals and residents come together for accessible, high-quality care close to home.
Why are we doing this?
At Hartelt Fund Management, we do not simply invest in bricks and square metres. For us, investing in healthcare real estate is about enabling genuine care delivery close to people. It is about creating buildings that are not only sustainable in terms of energy consumption but also strengthen the resilience of communities and contribute to a society in which health is accessible to everyone.
That is what we work on every day: bringing primary care closer to people, in buildings that are prepared for the future and add value for the long term.
A special moment calls for cake
Naturally, a milestone like this is celebrated with cake. After all, working together to create a building that will soon help so many people deserves something sweet.
