Construction of nursing home De Zuidlanden in Leeuwarden started

In July 2020, the construction of nursing home location “De Zuidlanden” officially started. This care location for 96 residents will be integrated as a ‘normal’ part of a residential area in Leeuwarden. The architecture and appearance of the building also resembles a residential property.

The property is divided into 12 living groups of eight residents with their own front door. The residents, who suffer from a form of dementia, will have a living and sleeping studio with its own bathroom. Additionally, there is a shared living room with conservatory, a safe courtyard and plenty of space to move freely.

The tenant of the property is healthcare provider Noorderbreedte. The furnishing of the home will support the care workers to give residents a valuable day, every day. The current planning is that the residents will celebrate Christmas 2021 in their new home.
