HISTORY

Hartelt was founded in 2013 and was then located in the historical country estate Vaeshartelt, situated on the north side of Maastricht. The name Vaeshartelt originated in 1381 when Servaes van Mulcken, alderman of Maastricht, became owner of the Hartelt estate. This gave rise to the name Vaeshartelt (= (Ser)vaes his Hartelt).

In 1851, the well-known Maastricht industrialist Petrus Regout bought Vaeshartelt from King Willem II.

Due to the growth the company has experienced since 2013, Hartelt Fund Management has now moved to a more centrally located and easily accessible office in Maastricht. The name Hartelt, however, will certainly be honored by this underlying history.

CORE VALUES

The core values are our guiding principles. They have intrinsic value and importance to everyone in our company. Our core values may provide a competitive advantage, but that is not why we have them. We have them because they define what we stand for, and we would hold them even if they were a competitive disadvantage in certain situations.

COMMITTED

“We never started this just to make money. We started this to make a difference.”

We feel a strong personal commitment. We want the best for everyone involved: employees, investors, tenants, partners, environment and society.

UPRIGHT

“True character is doing the right thing – even when no one else is watching.”

We stick to standards and values, even when they are under pressure. We are honest, trustworthy and always keep our backs straight. We are transparent in our actions and accountable for our behavior and choices.

ENTREPENEURIAL

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”

We dare to take risks and are go-getters. We learn from our mistakes and are creative. We think in terms of solutions and possibilities.
